Gripfest 8 Grip Gauntlet

Gripfest 8 is heading to Bionik Gym in Oldham on 15th September. With over 40 arm wrestlers taking battle on the day it's going to be a great spectacle. 

We're coming to test your strength with a challenging set of arm wrestling themed events.

WEIGHT CATEGORIES:

• Men's Open
• Women's Open

All athletes will be required to weigh in before competing for record purposes.

EVENTS:

Event 1 - Rolling Handle Points Medley

A new style of event we're trialling at Gripfest on the 60mm Rolling Handle.

• Each athlete will get 60s to complete as many reps to lockout as possible.
• You are free to switch between weights & hands, so start off high and work your way down as you fatigue.

There will be 3 weights available to lift:

• 80kg - 3 Points
• 70kg - 2 Points
• 60kg - 1 Point

Event 2 - Vertical Bar Hold

Using the Dynamite Vertical Bar for a maxiumum hold.

• The hold must be completed for a minimum of 5 seconds to be valid. Times will be rounded to the nearest 0.1 ie 12.23s seconds becomes 12.2s.

Available Weights:

• 30kg, 40kg, 50kg, 60kg, 70kg, 80kg

Event 3 - Cliffhanger Tug Royale

Another new event we're bringing is going to get competitive. 

• Each athlete starts with their grip primed on the cliffhanger and thumb on the peg.
• The cliffhangers are attached using an adjustable chain.
• You are required to pull your opponents fingertips towards your side of the table and touch the peg to win.
• We keep going until we find the winner.

Event 4 - Dynamometer Score

How's your crush grip? Well we're about to find out!

• Everyone pulls from the same handle width.
• You get 3 attempts in total (you can switch hands)
• The highest score recorded wins.
