Hubs
Hub lifting stands as a testament to the enduring challenge of grip strength, tracing its roots back to the early 20th century. Pioneers like Karl Norberg and John Grimek popularized the feat of lifting weight plates by their central hub, a practice that tested the limits of pinch grip strength.
This tradition was revitalized in 1990 when IronMind introduced the standardized Hub, making this classic test accessible to strength enthusiasts worldwide. In the modern era, athletes such as Harri Tolonen have pushed the boundaries of hub lifting, with Tolonen setting a world record lift of 44.80 kg in 2019 on the IronMind Hub.
At present Ross Boyle is the current record holder of the Gods Of Grip Mid Hub with a huge 41.7kg beating the previous record by almost 3kg.
These achievements highlight the evolution and continued relevance of hub lifting in grip sport.
At Gods of Grip, we celebrate this rich history by offering a curated collection of hub lifting tools. Each piece is crafted to challenge and develop your pinch grip, connecting you to a lineage of strength that spans generations. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or new to grip training, our Hub Collection provides the equipment to test your limits and honor the legacy of grip strength.
