GRIPKIDZ IN ACTION
GripKidz
GripKidz is a dedicated range of grip training equipment designed specifically for children. Scaled-down versions of adult grip tools, the products are built to be safe, durable, and fun — all while introducing young athletes to the world of strength, coordination, and movement.
To inspire the next generation to build strength, confidence, and healthy movement habits through safe and engaging grip training.
We believe that grip strength is a fundamental building block for physical development — from climbing frames and monkey bars to sport-specific skills. GripKidz is here to support that journey with equipment that fits growing hands and encourages active play.
GripKidz was born thanks to George, our 2-year-old, who loves getting stuck in whenever we're training in the Grip Shed or hosting Events.
Watching him try to lift and play with the bigger kit sparked an idea, why not create something just for kids? Scaled for smaller hands, built for big fun, and safe enough for even the littlest lifters.
Safety Information
- Product Safety - We’ve taken every effort to ensure these products are durable, safe, and child-friendly. However, we recommend regularly checking all equipment for signs of wear or damage before each use.
- Age Guidance - GripKidz products are designed for children aged 3 and up. Always use age-appropriate sizes and resistance levels to ensure safe and effective training.
- Quality Control - Every single GripKidz product is made by us, checked by us and approved for use before we send it out to you.
- Supervision - Children should always be supervised when using GripKidz equipment. We also strongly recommend appropriate footwear to help prevent injury in case any weights are dropped. The ‘Foot Saver’ loading pin adds an extra layer of protection but does not completely eliminate the risk.
- Lifting Area - Use GripKidz equipment in a clear, flat, and non-slip area free of obstacles. Avoid using it on slippery surfaces or near sharp corners or furniture.
- Storage - Keep equipment stored safely when not in use to avoid tripping hazards or unintended play.
- Warm-Up - Encourage kids to warm up properly before using the equipment to reduce the risk of strain or injury.
- Instruction - Show children how to use the equipment properly. Improper use can result in strain or loss of control. If you're unsure how to use the equipment check out the relevant demonstration video on the product pages.
Grip Training For Kids
Introducing grip training from a young age can play an important role in a child’s physical development. It’s not about lifting heavy weights or building big muscles — it’s about building strength, control, and confidence in a safe, age-appropriate way.
BUILDS FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH
Grip training helps develop the small muscles in the hands, fingers, and forearms. These muscles are involved in almost every physical activity, from climbing and throwing to writing and tying shoelaces.
IMPROVES COORDINATION & DEXTERITY
Many grip-based exercises also challenge coordination. This helps children improve their fine motor skills — the precise movements needed for tasks like handwriting, using tools, or playing musical instruments.
ENCOURAGES HEALTHY JOINT & TENDON DEVELOPMENT
Training grip through light resistance or playful tools can gently strengthen tendons and ligaments in the wrists and fingers. Over time, this builds a solid foundation for more demanding sports and reduces the risk of injury.
SUPPORTS CONFIDENCE AND BODY AWARENESS
Grip strength is something kids can feel and see improve quickly. Whether it’s holding onto monkey bars longer or picking up something heavier, these small wins help build a sense of achievement and body control.
BOOSTS PERFORMANCE AND SPORTS PLAY
Stronger hands and wrists support better performance in many sports — climbing, gymnastics, martial arts, rugby, and more. It also helps in everyday tasks, like carrying bags or opening containers, making life a bit easier and more independent.
FUN, ENGAGING AND SAFE
When done with the right tools (like GripKidz loading pins or soft extensor bands), grip training becomes part of active play. It keeps things fun, safe, and easy to adapt to a child’s size and ability.
