Herculean Hands 5 Record Breakers brought together a strong mix of open, weight-class, masters, women’s and junior athletes for a varied day of grip lifting across some of the sport’s best-known implements.

The event featured everything from classic tests like the Axle Deadlift, Saxon Deadlift, Rolling Handle and V Bar, through to more specialist challenges including the Deadpool, Pokeball, Inch Pinch, Pipe lifts, Cliffhanger, Tip Blaster and OmniGrip.

There were some standout heavy performances across the day. Justin Rooney put up the heaviest lift of the event with a huge 192kg Axle Deadlift - 50mm, while Craig Rowney followed with 174.5kg on the 12" Axle Deadlift - 50mm. In the grip-specific events, Keith Bradbury impressed with 165.9kg on the OmniGrip - 60mm 2H, while Dan Varian was just behind with 164.6kg on the OmniGrip - 60mm.

On the vertical events, Tommy Lymath led the way with 139.8kg on the V Bar - 50mm and 96.4kg on the V Bar - 76mm, while George Clough topped the OmniGrip - 70mm with 66.8kg. Daniel Kidd posted strong open-class numbers in the pinch and pipe events, including 34.7kg on the Inch Pinch and 40.5kg on the Pipe - Large.

The women’s classes were represented well too, with Robyn Kelly putting up 92kg on the Axle Deadlift - 50mm and 66.4kg on the Tip Blaster, while Larissa Fullagar-Read recorded 63kg on the Cliffhanger, 21kg on the Hub - Mid, and 69.6kg on the V Bar - 50mm.

The juniors also had a great showing. Noah Kelly recorded lifts on the Pokeball, Cliffhanger, and V Bar - 50mm (hold), while Scarlett Middleton posted 18.95kg on the Deadpool and 28kg on the Cliffhanger.

Overall, it was a very well-rounded day of lifting, with strong performances across multiple categories and a good spread of implements being contested.
